Blogs are not only alive and well, but great for business

Blogging how to’s for growing your brand

When things have been around awhile two things happen, either they become irrelevant or they evolve and become part of everyday life and norms. Blogs, for the purpose of educating your target audience, cultivating brand awareness, and building long-term and continued relationships with consumers, are as relevant as ever. In fact, marketing research confirms that blogging has a further reach and a greater capacity to engage than even five years ago! Another positive? They are a great bang for your buck.

With so many blogs out there, you might be wondering how to ensure that your blog makes the impact you want it to; well, you have come to the right blog! Here are some tricks of the trade to ensure that your blog is doing what you want and need it to: building brand awareness, connecting with new and loyal customers, and bringing in some sales!

  • Quality over quantity - write about what you know and what your target audience wants

  • Consistent - once a week max (or as often as you want without notifying consumers directly)

  • Spend a little more to get a little more - longer blog content is getting selected by search engine algorithms

  • Add short and digestible bullets - like this... a table of contents of easy to digest info to read and take action

  • Stand out - give your blog some personality with the pictures you use, the style and tone, and spice it up or sweeten it up to get people interested

  • Evaluate performance, then adapt

Quality blogs, not quantity

The marketing funnel starts with awareness, inspires consideration, eventually converts, and hopefully the products and services inspire loyalty. To build awareness, you have to educate people on what you have to offer. And you can’t make people aware with one attempt at sharing information; it is sharing your expertise over the long haul. It is showing your target market that you are there, and will continue to be there and grow.

So, rather than sharing lots and lots of disingenuous and unenlightened content, it is important to provide organic, genuine, new, and consistent content. Hit on relevant topics that are timely and new that everyone is Googling! Each time a customer engages, they move further along the sales funnel and eventually, they can’t justify why they haven’t purchased before!

Consistency

Just today I cleaned out my mailbox with blog notifications and product and service updates. There are some organizations and businesses that send me “stuff” every single day, and eventually I get tired of it, and I bet you do too. Don’t be the pesky suitor who thinks that pushing yourself on them every day will get you noticed--well you will get noticed, but then you will get SPAMMED!

Produce a blog once a week, send them notifications every couple of weeks to highlight the blogs and get them interested in checking them out.

Spend a little more to get a little more

Long form blogs (1,200-2000 word articles) are getting the search engine optimization green light these days, so producing longer, smarter, albeit more time-consuming pieces are something to consider. It may cost in time and money, but it will be worth it. If you don’t want to write your own full length blogs, then let Anneomaly Digital help you. We have great writers/journalists who are ready to research and craft solid, smart content to give your customers what they want.

Short, digestible info

On the flip-side, making sure you also provide short, easily digestible bits of content within the article. This will ensure you reach that part of your target market that only has a little time to engage. Give them some bullet points, and you will have yourself a blogging masterpiece.

Evaluate and adapt

If you already have a blog, and you aren’t seeing the results you want, then evaluate and give it an overhaul.

  1. Look at your competitors and find out what they are doing, and do it differently and better.

  2. Define the style and tone of your blog and determine how to make it spicier and more engaging - is it playful, authoritative, sarcastic... what works, what doesn’t? How would your target audience engage with something a bit more spicy?

  3. Tweak your blogs to make people take notice! Make it more humorous? More academic? More genuine and like the girl next door?

Blogging and online content is here to stay, so get on the bandwagon! You don’t have to reinvent the wheel, but you do need to bedazzle it! Let Anneomaly Digital help you while you do what you do best, operate your business!
